This week has been pretty good. We finally got Gavin into the crib, but he seems to be waking up at 5 am’ish every morning. I feel bad for Christine because I don’t even hear her get up to pick up him anymore at that time. I try to help, but only if I could hear it all to get up. I guess naturally I’m becoming a heavier sleeper. Anyway, other than that work has been going well. The project(s) I’m on are going smoothly.

Nothing really new to say though. Christmas lists are starting and I have to start figuring out what everyone wants. I’m excited for Thanksgiving though. I’ll get some time to spend with Christine and Gavin.

Not much has changed though. The baby’s due in about 8 weeks, and we’ve just been taking care of the house. The dogs are doing fine and are healthy.

We’ve been trying to get plants (and keep them alive). So far we’ve been successful.

Other than that, everything’s doing pretty well.

As far as the stock market goes, it’s been rough with the oil scare and speculation that goes with it. Right now I’m holding onto my AOB shares because I think they’re a great company that’s getting knocked down due to the oil crisis right now.

Today was pretty fun. We were up late (read the last post), so we got a late start. We went to church, then after that we hung out at the house for a few minutes. After we took the dogs out for a quick walk, we went over to Christine’s parents’ to celebrate Robin’s Birthday.

We ended up getting him a set of really, really nice wine glasses. I think he liked them.

So yesterday was pretty fun. Mark and Kristin came in from Scranton and it was the first time they came in after they got engaged. We had a couple of people over: Blair, Matt, Katie, Ivan, John, Jesse. We ordered some hoagies from Frank’s and played Smash brothers, Rock band, and some people played pool downstairs too.

I got a chance to try out the new camera on people this time! I got a lot of good pictures. I love how it’s just so fast, and now that the pictures are in really high resolution, I have no fear of printing it in a large size and having it be pixelated.

After everyone left, we caught Sadie licking on the floor at what appeared to be gum. We panicked because dogs can’t eat gum like Orbit or any of those because they can die. So we called around to see who was chewing gum. We found out that it was Stride, which contains the same ingredients as Orbit gum, so we had to take Sadie to the ER to make sure that she was going to be alright. The doctor’s charged us $65 for them to call the poison control… on top of the ER costs. I think that seems a little ridiculous.

Anyway, everything is well. The dogs are ok, and we had a lot of fun.

I took pictures of our freshly painted dining room. You guys should take a look, it turned out really well. It took us about.. 3 days. We took our time though. One day (Sunday) we went and got the paint, then did the walls. The next day we put up the photos/frames, then we painted the baseboards and put up the curtain.

Hi everyone. So I finally was able to reformat the tablet computer (with xp tablet addition thanks to Tim) and I’m trying to see how long I survive using only open source software – minus the o/s since otherwise the tablet features are useless. Anyway, I found a couple of software that I think is pretty neat. And again.. it’s open source, so it’s free.

NVU – this one’s great for a Dreamweaver alternative.

Gimp – Kind of like photoshop.. takes a bit to get used to.

Inkscape – Very much like Fireworks, but has a few really nice features.

That’s pretty much it for now. Things like Firefox and Filezilla you all should know by now. I’ll see if I can draw up anything neat to post.

Anyway, everything’s been going pretty well on my side. Christine’s been feeling well which is a good sign. We’re at about.. wow… almost 5 months now. Which means soon we get to see the sonogram of the baby!! Crazy.

I think Mark and Kristin are coming in this weekend too so we get to see their freshly engaged-selves.

Well, other than that… nothing else really new. Pittsburgh was supposed to be covered in ice today. PennDOT did a too-nice-of-a-job cleaning up the roads. Right now it’s just raining and nasty. Anyway, I’ll keep on posting. This is much nicer than what I used to have. Until then… stay warm!
